Tornado Hits North St. Louis
Although a cyclone passed over St. Louis Place in the May 16 storms, it did not touch down. We were spared but a few minutes later our neighbors to the west were not so blessed. Five lives were lost, five thousand homes damaged or destroyed and many businesses lost. St. Louis Place residents have responded, checking door to door to be sure of needs in our neighborhood and cutting trees and hauling debris where damage was severe.
Action St. Louis is coordinating response from the O'Fallon Park YMCA at 4343 W. Florissant Ave from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. daily. Check their website for updates on how you can be part of recovery efforts.
