Celebrating Capt. David Dorn
On June 1, neighbors, family, colleagues and city officials gathered in St Louis Place Park to celebrate the life of Captain David Dorn.

Tornado Hits North St. Louis
Although a cyclone passed over St. Louis Place in the May 16 storms, it did not touch down. We were spared but a few minutes later our neighbors to the west were not so blessed.

On Sunday, May 4, St Louis Place welcomed former residents of the infamous Pruitt Igoe Housing Project as they unveiled a historic marker at 20th and Cass Streets.

Neighborhood Plan Moving Forward
Monday evening, April 28, members of the St Louis Place Planning Committee met with Project Connect leadership to review the draft plan for our neighborhood.

We have a series of great events to celebrate Spring! Check our calendar for details on our cheering section for the St. Louis Marathon, dedication of a history marker for the Pruitt Igoe site, sports fun for kids at our refurbished basketball and skating courts, placing of park benches on the 5th anniversary of the death of Captain Dorn -- all leading into the Whittaker summer concert series at St Louis Place Park every Thursday in June.

News from the SLPCA April General Meeting
Board of Aldermen President Megan Green met with us to update us on achievements of the Board session that just ended and goals for the coming year.

the Neighborhood Champion Award
We received the Neighborhood Champion Award for our impactful work in the St. Louis Place Community Association the SLACO - St. Louis Association of Community Organizations' 28th Annual Conference.

Washington University students partner with our neighborhood
Students from the George Warren Brown School of Social Work at Washington University are partnering with us to help us improve our communications and community outreach.

Project Connect Monthly Meeting
Project Connect Monthly Meeting. On Monday, January 13 SLPCA members met with Project Connect to continue the planning process that will create a neighborhood plan that reflects our needs and concerns. We defined three priorities for this time: housing, a community center, and a K-8 school to help attract families to the area. This is part of a six neighborhood planning process led by St Louis Development Corporation.

SLPCA January Monthly Meeting
SLPCA January Monthly Meeting. In spite of fierce winter weather, neighbors gathered for our monthly meeting on Thursday, January 16. We voted on updated bylaws and met representatives of St Louis Neighborhood Foresters. Our Development Committee also met to set our priorities to begin to rehab or build affordable housing to replace what we have lost in our neighborhood.
